The practice
The drilling contractor drills. The consultant’s Qualified Person signs. Between those two, the party actually paying for the program often has nobody on site who knows what clean field data looks like.
That seat is the practice.

The work
A Phase Two environmental site assessment at a 15,000 sq ft commercial automotive-service property in Hamilton, Ontario. The field program ran December 2025 into January 2026.
Owner’s-side oversight ran its length: drilling and slab coring, soil and groundwater sampling, field screening, logging, chain of custody, and geophysics. Attending while the work happens, and keeping the owner’s own record of what happened on site.
The value of attendance is not that it catches anyone out. It is that field data degrades quietly — a mislabelled bag, a sample left warm, a depth written down from memory an hour later — and the owner is the only party whose interest is served by catching it while the rig is still on site.
Scope
Bracebridge Technical is not a consultancy.
It does not provide a Qualified Person. It does not author, sign or stamp environmental site assessment reports. It operates no laboratory and holds no professional designation. One principal; contract field staff.
The scope is attendance and judgement on the owner’s side while someone else’s crew generates the data. That is the part of a program that usually goes unwatched.
Instrument-side work
Field work is where the automation question starts. The expensive part of environmental field data is human attention, and a large share of that attention goes to transcription — readings copied by hand, sample identity reconciled after the fact, a day of work that exists as photographs and a notebook until someone types it up.
That observation is being taken up on the instrument side by Terrasope, a Craftpine program: offline-first field telemetry carrying a sensing payload at the edge. First bench spike passed August 2026. No sensor hardware exists yet; the instrument is a mock and is labeled as one.
